Brow Lift Surgery (Forehead Lift)
Brow lift surgery or a forehead lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure that corrects the way your eyebrows sit and the wrinkles in the forehead and between your eyebrows, giving you a more youthful-looking appearance. Facial ageing, gravity, the sun, and movement of the muscles in your face can lead to drooping of the eyebrows. Drooping of the eyebrows can result in a permanently tired, or an angry or sad looking face.
A brow lift is a surgical procedure that involves repositioning the brow to the higher level that is more characteristic of a younger face. It achieves this and reduces the appearance of superficial lines on the forehead that can be caused by deep horizontal lines from scrunching up to frown, all without disturbing natural facial movements if the surgery is properly done.
Turkey is rapidly becoming one of the major centres in the world for advanced, medically and technologically highly qualified cosmetic and plastic facial surgery. In addition to having modern, internationally, fully accredited hospitals, Turkey also has an excellent and highly qualified number of surgeons. Clinichub gives you the opportunity of being looked after from start to finish by international class facilities and doctors in Ministry of Health approved, JCI (Joint Commission International) accredited hospitals.
What Is a Brow Lift?
A brow lift is a surgical procedure to raise the position of the eyebrows and to improve the appearance of the forehead. As we age, our skin and soft tissues stretch and lose elasticity. In particular, our brows descend and can form a fold of skin over the top of the eyelids and deep wrinkles across the top of the forehead.
By elevating the brow and repositioning the underlying muscles and soft tissues, Blepharoplasty achieves a brighter and more open-eyed look without affecting facial animation.
Brow lift surgery may be performed as a solo procedure or in conjunction with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) or facelift surgery.
Types of Brow Lift Procedures
The choice of technique will depend on the patient’s individual anatomy, skin texture, amount of droop and their personal preference.
Endoscopic Brow Lift
Endoscopic Forehead Lift involves a lesser invasive technique that utilizes small incisions in the hairline. Using an endoscope, (a tiny camera that allows the surgeon to view on a screen) the surgeon is able to reposition the tissue with far less scarring and a quicker recovery time.
Coronal Brow Lift
Also known as a “scalp incision” procedure, this traditional forehead lift surgery method involves a single incision that is strategically carved directly across the top of the scalp. This surgery method is usually required for quite dramatic correction.
Temporal (Lateral) Brow Lift
The Temporal Brow Lift Procedure The Temporal Brow Lift will primarily address the elevation of the outer part of the eyebrows and improve drooping laterally as well as create an associated elevation.
Direct Brow Lift
In a few selected cases, particularly for more functional repair, we may use a direct incision above the eyebrow.
The most appropriate technique is determined during consultation after facial assessment.
Who Is a Good Candidate for Brow Lift Surgery?
Brow lift surgery may be suitable for individuals who:
Have drooping eyebrows
Notice deep forehead lines
Appear tired or angry due to brow descent
Experience hooding over the upper eyelids
Are in good general health
Have realistic expectations
A complete facial analysis is necessary to decide if a brow lift should be a primary or secondary procedure.
Why Consider a Forehead Lift?
Restore a Youthful Appearance
Are you self-conscious about sagging brows that make you look tired? A brow lift addresses both form and function to give you a smooth, contoured and more youthful appearance. The effects of gravity can cause a drooping of the brows, resulting in an appearance of being tired or even depressed, and can be a major contributor to frown lines. During a brow lift, the position of the eyebrows is normalized and the contours of the upper face are rebalanced.
Reduce Forehead Wrinkles
The procedure softens horizontal forehead lines and frown lines between the eyebrows.
Improve Eye Openness
Raising the eyebrows can help to alleviate hooding in the upper eyelid and give a more alert, more awake appearance.
Long-Lasting Rejuvenation
The benefits derived from non-surgical therapies are usually short-lived; in contrast, the effects of a surgical brow lift last for years.
Brow Lift Cost: How Much Is a Forehead Lift?
The cost of a brow lift can vary depending on the surgical technique used, the experience of the plastic surgeon, the facility where the surgery is performed and whether other cosmetic procedures are being performed in conjunction with the brow lift.
Every person’s facial structure and desired outcome is unique so we are able to give a more accurate price after consultation and individualized treatment planning.
Factors Affecting Brow Lift Cost
Surgical Technique
Endoscopic and open techniques differ in complexity.
Combination Procedures
Brow lift combined with eyelid surgery or facelift may influence cost.
Surgeon Experience and Facility Accreditation
Experienced surgeons and internationally accredited hospitals impact pricing.
The Brow Lift Procedure: What to Expect
Brow lift surgery is designed to provide natural elevation without overcorrection.
Initial Consultation
A surgical consultation with an experienced surgeon will determine the optimal position of the eyebrows relative to the face, as well as the condition of the skin, muscles and overall facial architecture. Pictures are taken, and a complete patient history is obtained to fully understand the patient’s goals.
Preparing for Surgery
Preparation may include:
Medical evaluation
Avoiding smoking
Stopping blood-thinning medications
Fasting before anaesthesia
These steps reduce surgical risks and support optimal healing.
During the Procedure
Brow lift surgery is almost invariably done under a general anaesthetic. The incisions depend on the type of procedure chosen. These are generally kept small to allow the quickest possible recovery. The soft tissues are repositioned, and it may also be necessary to alter the position of underlying muscles before the incisions are closed.
Anaesthesia
General anaesthesia ensures patient comfort and precision.
Incision Placement
Incisions are typically hidden within the hairline to minimise visible scarring.
Immediate Aftercare in the Hospital
Our staff will closely monitor you in our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) or Recovery Room until you are awake and able to breath without the assistance of a ventilator or breathing apparatus. Typically patients will be admitted to the hospital on an overnight stay.
After discharge, patients are taken back to their hotel. Our team of nurses and doctors remain available 24/7 to support with any medical issues that may arise prior to their scheduled follow up appointments.
Brow Lift Recovery: Timeline and Aftercare
Recovery varies depending on technique and individual healing.
What to Expect During Recovery
First week: Swelling and mild bruising
Weeks 2–3: Gradual improvement
4–6 weeks: Return to normal activities
Several months: Final tissue settling
Managing Swelling
Keeping the head elevated and following medical advice helps reduce swelling.
Post-Operative Instructions
Patients should:
Avoid heavy lifting
Sleep with head elevated
Avoid pressure on the forehead
Attend follow-up appointments
Brow Lift Results: Before and After
The final result is achieved as the swelling diminishes. The brows will be permanently elevated and the forehead will be smooth, with the eyes appearing wide open.
Realistic Expectations
Brow lift surgery is used to counteract the signs of aging while maintaining individual facial identity.
How Long Do Results Last?
The effects of filler injections are long-lasting and generally retain their effect for years. However, longevity of the results may be influenced by a variety of factors such as time, and individual aspects of health and lifestyle.
Risks and Complications
Brow lift surgery is considered safe when performed by experienced surgeons.
Common Side Effects
